Security By Bobby Zen I have been a manager in the industrial laundry business for 30 years, and have experience with numerous security systems. These include motion detectors in various places of a building, video cameras, door/window alarms, security guards and guard dogs. Sad to say that most of my dealings with these have not been good. I have answered dozens, if not hundreds of false alarms. We actually caught a thief several times at a plant in Tampa and got him prosecuted after the third time. There are typically alarms attached to the water system in a laundry, that activates if the sprinklers go off due to fire. This works and did help us with a fire at plant one time. My suggestion to potential buyers of security systems would be to get references and weigh the cost of the system and labor involved with monitoring it, against potential (or real) losses.
